Mia Farrow and Woody Allen began dating in 1979, shortly after the actress had left her husband, André Previn, with whom she had six children (three adopted and three biological). Allen and Farrow were one of the most popular couples of the ’80s, and though they never married, were together for 10 years. During their relationship, they adopted three children together and welcomed a biological son, Ronan Farrow.
In 1992, the news of an affair between the director and Farrow and Previn’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi, spread through the media–although the affair reportedly started in 1991. The two became a couple, stating that they never viewed each other as father or daughter, and never lived in the same household as each other. They married in 1997 and have two adopted daughters.
Since the mid-’90s, there have been sexual assault allegations surrounding Allen, which have been revived due to the #MeToo movement. Allen’s son, Ronan Farrow, stands steadfast that his father sexually assaulted his adopted sister, Dylan Farrow. As a result of these allegations, the director’s Amazon deal and memoir were dropped.
