Kylie Jenner’s return to the Met Gala will have to wait another year. The reality star announced on her Instagram today that she will not be attending the New York City event this evening. “I’m so sad I couldn’t make it this year,” she wrote with two white hearts. “I can’t wait to see all the looks.”
The announcement comes just days after Jenner confirmed her second pregnancy and debuted the first look at her maternity style during New York Fashion Week. Jenner, of course, kept her first pregnancy private.
Jenner had planned to attend the Met Gala, E! reported last week. In fact, she had initially wanted to confirm her pregnancy at the gala, but “[it] didn’t work out the way she had hoped,” the source said. The source did not explain why exactly it didn’t work out.
Still, the source said Jenner felt comfortable and ready to share the news when she did. “She’s happy with the way it all turned out,” the source said. “She is very happy and thrilled to finally share such exciting news with all of her fans.”
Jenner and Scott’s relationship is fully back on too, another source told E!. A third source said they “have a lot of love between them. Kylie really loves Travis and she does see a future with him.” With the chemistry they have, “They realized they want to be together instead of apart… The pregnancy is only bringing them closer together.”
Last night, Jenner shared a screenshot of Scott on her Instagram Story during his acceptance speech at the VMAs. Scott did not thank Jenner in his speech but gave her, his “wifey,” a shoutout on his Twitter.

Jenner described Scott as her best friend in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last year. “We have such a great relationship,” Kylie said of him. “We’re like best friends. We both love Stormi and want what’s best for her. We stay connected and coordinated. I think about [my parents] in situations with Stormi, what they would do. They were very hands-on with me, and I want the same for Stormi.”
