Paparazzi captured Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds on a rare afternoon date in New York City yesterday, and the two dressed stylishly for the early fall weather in Manhattan. Lively paired a navy checkered dress with a matching long cardigan and yellow lace bra. She accessorized with white boots. Reynolds, meanwhile, wore a white patterned button-up and gray pants with white sneakers.
The two’s outing comes one week after Lively launched her Betty Buzz non-alcoholic mixer brand. (Lively doesn’t drink, but Reynolds does and has his own Aviation Gin brand.)
Reynolds spoke a little in July about how he and Lively’s friendship turned into their decade-long romance.
He began on the SmartLess podcast, “I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern [which came out in 2011, and the two filmed in 2010]. We were friends and buddies, and about a year and a half later, we went on a double date, but we were dating separate people.”
Reynolds said that he and Lively “always kind of kept in touch sort of casually” at that point. “Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, ‘Well, I’ll ride with you,’” he said. “We got on the train and we rode together. I was just begging her to sleep with me.”
Reynolds was asked what his first move to his now-wife looked like, and he gave a joke answer: “I would use a little bit of tear stick so I could get the tears kind of rolling…then I would tell a little sob story about my life.” He added more seriously that his relationship with Lively going from a friendship to a longtime romance was “one those those silly moments out of a fairytale.”
