Gigi Hadid drastically changed her hair color too following her split from Zayn Malik, switching from red to a very yellow, Barbie-like blonde. It’s the most blonde Hadid has been in a long time. She was photographed out with the new hair color in New York City. She wore a red jumpsuit and black beanie with it, so the yellow really stood out.

The New York outing marks one of Hadid’s first big public appearances since reports broke at the end of last month that Hadid and her boyfriend and baby Khai’s father Zayn Malik had ended their relationship. Malik pled no contest to four charges of harassment against her and her mother Yolanda Hadid then after having an alleged dispute with Yolanda in September.

A rep for Gigi issued a brief statement to E!, following reports coming out about Malik and Yolanda’s alleged dispute. The rep said Gigi “is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.” Malik, meanwhile, denied having any physical contact with Yolanda.

In a tweeted statement, he said:

As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter [Khai] to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago. This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been “leaked” to the press. I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.

A source close to Hadid spoke to E! in early November about Malik and Hadid’s relationship, which had been on-off for six years. This time, Hadid “is done with Zayn for good,” the source said.

“Yolanda is very distraught about what happened especially after everything she has done for Zayn and how welcoming she has been,” the source added. “[Yolanda,] Gigi and Bella have been staying together in NYC and have truly been supporting each other. They have a great family support system and are glad they have each other to lean on. The whole family wants Gigi to be done with Zayn for good. They have seen this behavior before and think it’s unacceptable.”
