Halsey is a mom! On Monday, the singer announced that she welcomed her first child with screenwriter and film producer Alev Aydin. In an Instagram post, Halsey shared the first look at her life as a new mother and revealed her baby’s name: Ender Ridley Aydin. Halsey can be seen holding and breastfeeding her newborn, with Aydin by her side.
“Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin 7/14/2021,” she wrote in the caption.

In January, Halsey debuted her baby bump with a series of photos and tagged Aydin. The two had been friends since 2019, before they became romantically linked in October 2020.

Halsey had previously opened up about suffering a miscarriage while on tour in 2015. In an interview with The Guardian in February 2020, the singer described it as “the most inadequate I’ve ever felt,” adding, “Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralizing.” Despite her experience, Halsey was convinced that motherhood was “something that’s gonna happen for me. That’s a miracle.”
