Tonight, the 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be taken over celebrity Instagram feeds as television’s biggest stars convene in Los Angeles to see who is going home with an award and who is just going home.

It seems like certain shows are hovering on a total sweep; several have more than 20 nominations each, like Netflix’s The Crown and Disney+’s The Mandalorian and WandaVision, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and runaway Apple TV hit Ted Lasso. Don’t forget the Limited Series category, which features a number of shows that saw us through the last year and more of staying home, like The Queen’s Gambit, I May Destroy You, and Mare of Easttown. There’s a fan favorite for every type of fan in competition tonight.

Here’s what you need to know to enjoy the broadcast.

What Time Does Red Carpet Coverage Begin?

Though the Emmys are live and in person for many invitees this year, there will only be about 500 people going down the red carpet due to COVID-19 concerns. People and Entertainment Tonight will be airing their coverage from 6pm to 8pm EST on E! but the Live From E! Countdown to the 2021 Emmys begins at 4:30pm EST.

The Emmys are also running a Backstage Live show that you can stream on Emmys.com or the Emmy’s Facebook page.

Here’s the Channel For Watching the Emmys Live:

This year, CBS has the honor of lighting up living room TV screens with Hollywood stars. The show airs at 8pm EST and is being hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, outdoors on the L.A. Live deck in downtown Los Angeles. The broadcast should be wrapping up around 11pm, but who knows how the speeches will go.
