Jennifer Lopez is the happiest she’s ever been—and she’ll be the first to tell you. Of course, many of us know what (or rather who) is responsible. Following her split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez, the singer has reignited a relationship with old flame Ben Affleck, and the two have since been spotted canoodling at Universal Studios, in the Hamptons, and on a yacht all over Europe, as one does. Seeing as J.Lo is pretty much the poster girl for nostalgic times and new beginnings, it’s no surprise that Coach tapped her for its fall campaign, inspired by “our present and our future—what we’ve learned and where we are going,” says creative director Stuart Vevers. “It’s a story about friendship and the way our loved ones inspire, support, and shape us, and the excitement we feel about spending time together again… It celebrates the sense of possibility and joy found in connection.”
Lopez is featured alongside Michael B. Jordan, Kōki, and Jeremy Lin in the campaign, photographed by Renell Medrano. It marks yet another collaboration between the superstar and the heritage brand, including designing her first bag, the Hutton, last year. “The designs, details, and craftsmanship with the beautiful hardware continue to be a staple of Coach accessories,” Lopez says. “I’ve had several of their handbags that I keep on rotation for many years.” As a mom, Lopez is keenly aware that her bag collection is coveted by other members of her household. “I’ll definitely be passing down a lot of pieces [to my daughter],” she says. “One thing that’s great about Coach is their pieces really stand the test of time.”
Here, J.Lo talked to ELLE.com about her fall must-haves, what she loves about New York, and the importance of making up for lost time with loved ones.
This campaign is all about people coming together. What are you looking forward to post-pandemic?
My plan is to spend as much quality time with family and friends as possible. Fall always has me thinking about the holidays and traditions, so that’s a big priority. I love all get-togethers—holidays, birthdays. I’m looking forward to celebrating those special moments with everyone as we hopefully get closer to the end of this.
What are some of your fall wardrobe staples?
Growing up in New York, fall was always a special time when the leaves would change and everyone felt refocused after the summer months. I love that fall colors are a little moodier and richer and you can wear different layers. I’m especially a fan of a big statement coat as part of my look.
Coach is such a New York-centric brand, too. What do you love most about the city?
I love the energy and the people and how it seems like they all want to be left alone, but when the going gets tough, they all come together to help each other. It’s definitely a tough place, but it has such character. New York has a pulse that you can’t find anywhere else.

Do you have a favorite piece from the collection?
There is a very cool gray wool coat that is a perfect piece for fall. I’m also excited to start wearing the Soft Tabby.
What is your key to dressing confidently?
For me fashion is an extension of your personality, so make sure to wear things that make you happy.
When do you feel the happiest?
Spending time with loved ones.
