While Kim Kardashian was visiting New York last week, she had at least two date nights with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. A source told Us Weekly on Saturday that Kardashian has received a lot of encouragement to pursue the connection from the intimate circle around her.
“One of the first things Kim did was to get her family and friends’ advice, and they all encouraged her to go for it,” the insider said. “It’s been very obvious for a while now that she’s been missing some fun and laughter in her life, and of course Pete offers that in abundance.”
Photos surfaced in October of Kardashian and Davidson holding hands as they road the rollercoaster at Knott’s Scary Farm just before Halloween, accompanied by Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé, Travis Barker. Barker and Davidson are friends and at first it was played off that Kardashian and Davidson were just friends, too. But they admitted earlier this week that more is brewing.
Though things are going well and the pair are having fun, Kardashian’s friends are apparently also warning her to go slow. The media mogul filed for divorce from her husband Kanye West earlier this year and they’re still going through proceedings.
“People are happy for Kim, but at the same time they’re urging her not to get too carried away or ahead of herself,” the source said. “Pete has this heartbreaker reputation for a reason, and while his intentions might be honorable, there’s a slight fear that Kim could be setting herself up for a vulnerable situation.”
Davidson does have a very star-studded dating history. The 27-year-old recently ended things with Bridgerton lead Phoebe Dynevor. Before Dynevor, he was connected with Kate Beckinsale, Cazzie David, and was famously engaged to Ariana Grande before they called it quits.
On Kardashian’s side, she is still contending with West—they have four children together and still seem to support one another in their creative endeavors. And West reportedly wants Kardashian back. He did unfollow her this week on Instagram after rumors of her relationship with Davidson surfaced.
“It’s so refreshing for Kim to be dating someone who’s almost the total opposite of her previous relationships,” the insider tells Us. “Pete’s just chill and doesn’t sweat the small stuff at all, which Kim finds really sexy.”
