It’s been a little less than a month since Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker got engaged, and Kardashian’s on-off ex and father of her children, Scott Disick, still isn’t fully on board with it. A source close to the family spoke to E! about Disick’s relationship with Barker and Kardashian, and why he is still keeping his distance from them.
The source said that Disick has to see them, partly because of the Hulu reality show the family is filming, but that doesn’t mean he’s particularly thrilled about it. “Scott knows he can’t escape [Travis] and Kourtney and will have to deal with seeing them and being around them,” the source started. “Scott was taking a break from seeing Kourtney and the family, but has signed on to their new show and had to be present.”
Barker and Disick are “cordial,” the source added. “Travis always says hello to Scott and is very nice. He doesn’t want any bad blood with Scott.” Disick, meanwhile, “tries to keep his distance,” and “doesn’t really know how to act” around Kardashian and Barker.
“He knows it’s something he will have to get over and it will come with time, but for now, it’s definitely hard for him to see them together,” that source said.
A source told People on Oct. 18 that Scott really didn’t approve of the two getting married. He is “not happy about the engagement,” the source said, point blank. “Scott never approved of Kourtney dating Travis. He has struggled with their relationship. He always had this idea that he and Kourtney would eventually get back together. He was pretty shocked when he found out that she was dating Travis.”
