Selena Gomez went out with friends on Saturday to TAO in Hollywood—and she showed just how to dress cozy-but-chic for a city dinner night. Gomez paired a velvet floral coat with a black bodycon top with a V-neckline and jeans. She accessorized with big silver earrings, a Prada bag, and a black face mask. The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, after all. Gomez wore her dark hair up in a bun.
Gomez’s night out comes after the internet theorized she was maybe dating Chris Evans because he followed her on Instagram. Gomez was asked by a paparazzo about the dating rumor, and she ignored the question, walking to her car. Gomez spoke earlier this year about being single and how difficult it is to date because of the attention that comes with it. She addressed dating rumors that sparked between her and her on-screen Only Murders in the Building love interest Aaron Dominguez after photos came out of them showing PDA for a scene they were shooting.
“We had just started working together. I honestly thought, ‘No wonder guys don’t want to date me!’” Gomez told the Los Angeles Times. “I think people only care because I’m young, and the older I get the less they’ll care. For now it’s a part of the job that I don’t really like. I’m actually grateful that I’m not involved with anyone right now.”
Gomez also isn’t on social media, where the dating rumor really spread. Despite being one of the most followed women on Instagram, Gomez doesn’t have the app on her phone. She spoke to ELLE about that choice she made years ago for her mental health in a September 2021 interview.
“I don’t have it on my phone, so there’s no temptation. I suddenly had to learn how to be with myself,” she said. “That was annoying, because in the past, I could spend hours looking at other people’s lives. I would find myself down nearly two years in someone’s feed, and then I’d realize, ‘I don’t even know this person!’ Now I get information the proper way. When my friends have something to talk about, they call me and say, ‘Oh, I did this.’ They don’t say, ‘Wait, did you see my post?’”
