MONTH OF June
Summer’s almost here Taurus—but before it’s official, let’s get a few things accomplished, shall we? June starts with a burst of punched-up productivity. Ready to turn your best ideas into solid achievements with tangible rewards? Prioritize and take daily actions until June 20. Later in the month, you’ll want to take a step back from all your hard work to celebrate with some summery social activities. You’ll be in a chatty, communicative mood—but plan to keep things light and watch your budget. Retrograde Mercury can scramble signals and cause potentially costly missteps. And midmonth, the second clashing square between Saturn and Uranus could bring a moment of major career reckoning. Add Jupiter and Neptune retrograde into the mix, and you might want to put a pin (temporarily) in riskier projects, or at least adjust your plans a bit. But stay optimistic! Month’s end could widen your horizons and open up exciting new vistas—perhaps on a global scale—for your most valued projects.
The Sun is in Gemini until June 20
With the clever Gemini Sun visiting your second house of work, financial gain and cherished possessions until Sunday, June 20, you’ll be able to start turning last month’s Taurus season epiphanies into something tangible—and possibly quite profitable. Use Gemini’s light, buzzy energy to get productive and dive into a new spring routine. Inject a healthy dose of playfulness into your efforts, even though you’ll be working hard.
You may want to hold off any big financial moves or major purchases, though. With messenger Mercury retrograde in Gemini and your money zone until June 22, financial matters may come served with an unpleasant side of confusion and mixed signals. Got some old business to attend to or a bill that’s past due? Mercury’s more likely to smile on your efforts if you close the book on unfinished work projects and financial matters.
Mars and Pluto get heated on June 5
Hold your fire, Taurus! On June 5, a hotheaded clash between uber-direct Mars and vengeful Pluto ripples across your communication axis. You could utter fighting words, especially if you’ve been holding something inside. While it’s important to speak your truth, that must be done with tact and diplomacy—which can be in short supply when you’re feeling hurt. Find a more productive way to process your anger than burning down the whole house.
Mars is in Cancer and your expressive third house, opposing transformational Pluto, which is in Capricorn and your growth-seeking ninth house. At this volatile face-off, prepare for some subconscious fears or resistance to come up. You may be the one pitching a grand idea only to bump up against naysayers or skeptics. Rather than get upset about it, get interested. Pluto rules the unconscious, and sometimes the people who irritate us the most are our greatest messengers. If you experience discord, dig deeper to find their motives before you fly off the handle. Issues with a sibling, neighbor or colleague could also arise. Inspect, don’t project!
The June 10 Gemini solar eclipse brings a fresh start to your finances
Money matters get a big fresh-start boost this Thursday, June 10, when the annual Gemini new moon arrives as a potent solar eclipse. As la luna charges up your second house of work, finances and security, you could have a lightbulb moment about ways to increase your income or profit from an entirely new path.
Make sure to do your research as Mercury retrograde will be traveling in tight formation with the moon, a signal not to rush into anything. Even if talks and promises sound exciting, crunching numbers will reveal the whole story. With hazy Neptune challenging the moon from your collaboration zone, be careful about going into business with friends. Having the right people on your team is as crucial as any great idea, budget and projections.
Saturn and Uranus clash again on June 14
Hold on tight, Taurus—or maybe just let go entirely? The sclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” econd of 2021’s three intense 90-degree squares forms between old-school Saturn and innovator Uranus this June 14, shaking up business as usual.
With Uranus making its once-every-84-years trip through Taurus from 2017 to 2026, you’re in the hot seat, experiencing major changes and even identity upheavals. Who you were just four or five years ago may look nothing like the person you’re becoming—and you’re shockingly okay with that.
Now, how does your career path figure in? With mature, goal-oriented Saturn in Aquarius and your professional tenth house, this is another day of reckoning, a chance to resolve your vocation with your inner vision. Look back to February 17, the first Saturn-Uranus square, for clues of what’s ahead. The tricky part, especially for your fiercely loyal sign, will be figuring out what to hold onto and what to let go of now. You don’t want to cling stubbornly to the past, yet you shouldn’t throw out the baby with the bathwater, as the saying goes.
The year’s third and final Saturn-Uranus square will show up on Christmas Eve, so between now and December 24, prepare to get highly experimental with different scenarios of how you could work while still exploring new lifestyle options. Uranus rules technology and remote work while old-school Saturn prefers things IRL and in the flesh. You may, for example, have to fight for your quest to remain virtual when people go back to the office.
This square could also manifest as a struggle to reconcile your need to be seen a certain way by the public due to status concerns. Deep down inside, you no longer feel like that person, at least, in some ways. The Saturn-Uranus duels could compel you to shed that concern and “come out” loud and proud as your authentic self, whether it’s with a new set of pronouns or pursuing a non-traditional career path after years as the stable, hardworking provider role. If nothing else, things could get really interesting…
It’s Cancer season (and summer solstice) starting June 20
Sunday, June 20, is a big day on the calendar this year. It’s the summer solstice, Father’s Day AND the start of homey Cancer season, which will heat up your communicative and social third house. The longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere could also be the most fun!
Do you need any more of an excuse to step away from the grind, get out into the sunshine and mingle safely? How about inviting your vaccinated friends and family over for a real, live hangout or meeting for an al fresco meal and catch-up?
Cancer season is ideal for marketing, teaching, writing, learning and spreading a message. Feel free to share the genius project you’ve been working so hard on. Just plan to start bringing it to market and spreading your exciting news to a wider audience once Monday rolls around.
But Jupiter also goes retrograde on June 20
Wait…there’s more! Sunday, June 20, also sets off expansive Jupiter’s annual four-month retrograde, which will last until October 18. For the first part of this backspin (until July 28), Jupiter will reverse through Pisces and your eleventh house of groups and friends. A promising collaboration or digital endeavor might get temporarily backburnered. It could be you having second thoughts. Or you may actually have to spend MORE time on this project, going back over a few steps and tightening up the operation.
On July 28, Jupiter will back into Aquarius and your tenth house of career. An old professional contact could resurface with an interesting opportunity. Explore with caution instead of rushing in. Your relationship with your father or another pivotal man could undergo a period of important healing and growth.
Mercury retrograde ENDS June 22
At last! The three weeks of technology, communicatioclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” n and plan-making mixups, courtesy of Mercury retrograde, are over. While you may still feel some “retroshade” from Mercury’s shadow period until July 7, it’s safe to move forward with a work or moneymaking project as Mercury powers forward in your productive, prosperous second house.
Close the deal at the June 24 Capricorn full moon
The benefits of your hard work might show themselves sooner than you expect. When the full moon in ambitious Capricorn lights up your exploration zone on Thursday, June 24, you’ll find yourself pondering a chance to travel, take your entrepreneurial ideas to a whole new level or share your work with a greatly expanded audience. Look back to January 13 Capricorn new moon for clues about what could manifest now—and get ready for your world to suddenly feel a whole lot bigger!
If, like most people, you haven’t been traveling much or at all, an opportunity to safely hit the road could present itself under these globetrotting moonbeams. You might also connect with a long-distance client or creative team to explore some big, bold ideas.
One more retrograde (Neptune) starts June 25 (total of 4 planets)
On June 25, hazy Neptune will turn retrograde until December 1, a transit that occurs at roughly this time every year. This brings the planetary retrograde count to four since Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are already making their annual backspins. It’s a fruitful time to take a step back and reconsider or review certain plans, especially ones that involve collaboration.
With Neptune reverse-commuting through Pisces and your teamwork sector, you might decide to pull back from certain friendships that feel draining or one-sided. Are you spending way too much time online or caught up in social media scrolling and swiping—or feeling the realness of Zoom fatigue? Consciously log off (no phones at the dinner table or working after certain hours!) so you can forge deeper connections.
If you’re vaccinated and feeling safe to venture into more social settings, this could be an important time to reconnect with old friends who really “get” you—the kind with whom you just pick up where you left off, no matter how much time has passed. Nurture loyal ties that can go the distance.
Venus in Cancer sparks up your flirty side on June 2
Chatty much? You’ve got witty banter for days when Venus enters Cancer from June 2 to 27, activating your social third house. Flirting exchanges could move you past the friend zone with someone you’ve been casually chatting and DMing. Spicy, assertive Mars has already been here since April 23 and will travel in tandem with Venus until June 11. Your silver-tongued charms will be irresistible!
Caveat: Intense Mars can add stress, making you come across as argumentative or pushy. If you’ve been bickering with your partner or coming on too strong with love interests, the softening touch of sweet Venus will help your words sing rather than sting. Coupled Bulls should make a point of hanging out together and trying new activities at local spots that have started opening up with al fresco activities or post-vaccination offerings.
Mars roars into Leo on June 11, turning love domestic
Whew! You’ve been “on” for weeks, and you’re ready for a little downtime. Here it comes: From June 11 to July 29, energizer Mars blazes through Leo and your fourth house of home, self-care and family. For couples, this is a great time to spruce (and spice) up your digs or to take a fun-filled getaway near water. Grab that Airbnb rental before the prices skyrocket any more!
Feeling rooted? Entertain guests and relatives at Chez Taurus. But leave the stressful ones off the list since angsty Mars can also heat up tempers. With Mercury retrograde muddling communication, make sure to triple-confirm plans and make the “house rules” crystal-clear.
Stress can hit a boiling point under your roof with hotheaded Mars underfoot, especially if you work from home or have taken on any home reno projects. If you’re feeling claustrophobic, gently but firmly let a loved one know that you need some space. Ramp up the pampering and book those overdue beauty and wellness appointments. You can’t possibly nurture yourself too much now.
Venus joins Mars in Leo on June 27
At month’s end, romantic Venus will join Mars in Leo, hanging out in this cozy, casa-based zone until July 11. It’s an ideal time to beautify a shared space, especially your bedroom. No matter what your relationship status, refresh any decor that doesn’t make your space feel sacred. Think: New shclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” eets that feel sumptuous on your skin, a pair of nightstands to put on either side of your bed, a gorgeous framed piece of art. Check out the paintings of fellow Taurus Mary James Ketch, one of our longtime students and readers whose fine art exquisitely capture the sensual colors and textures of your summer 2021!
Money gets a big budgetary boost on June 10, when the Gemini solar eclipse acts as a cosmic cash-flow catalyst for you. Have you been talking about embarking on a new career path? Now it’s time to take action! If you want to let the world know you’re open for business, this supercharged new moon gives you a strong nudge. But one careful step will do, Taurus: The eclipse is arm-in-arm with slippery Mercury retrograde, which could cause your normally rock-solid judgment to wobble. A big vision could come full-circle at the June 24 Capricorn full moon, which beams into your ninth house of travel, risk-taking and luck. Think outside the box—and take a bold leap of faith.
