On Saturday, October 30, Taylor Swift honored the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Carole King by opening the ceremony with an incredible rendition of King’s hit “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Swift took the stage in a sleek, sheer lace catsuit that hugged her form as she slowly moved across the stage. The material held a few glittering accents, and she wore sparkling eye shadow to match. Later that evening, Swift threw on a long black blazer to give her look a little more formality.

The performance seemed to move King in the audience. As the song came to an end, the camera panned to where she was sitting in the audience, wiping away a tear and gesturing with affection to Swift.

King is actually a big fan of Swift as well, and was the person charged with presenting her with an Artist of the Decade award at the 2019 American Music Awards.

“Over the years, I have known some great songwriters and I have also known some great singers and performers,” King said at the time. “It’s rare to see all those talents in one person. Taylor Swift. She is one of the only modern pop artists whose name appears as the sole songwriter in her song credits. Her lyrics resonate across all generations, her songs touch everyone and her impact around the world is extraordinary.”

At the induction ceremony, King dressed in black and wore a pair of casual checkered Vans. Other performances at the event included the incredible Jennifer Hudson, who sang “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”
