Spoilers ahead for The Circle season 3.

Fans of The Circle are already embroiled in all of the drama of season 3, which is airing on Netflix through September. In the first four episodes alone, sisters Ava and Chanel, who are playing as Ava, have found themselves voted out of The Circle, only to receive a second chance by cloning another player (Michelle has our deepest sympathies).

But who exactly are the Capra sisters, and why does Ava look so familiar? Here’s what you need to know about The Circle‘s Ava and Chanel.

Who is Ava Capra?

Twenty-six-year-old Ava Capra hails from Los Angeles. If Ava looks familiar to you, it’s because she was formerly a contestant on Season 22 of America’s Next Top Model. Although Ava placed 12th in the modeling competition, she’s built a huge platform on social media, and has more than 230,000 followers on Instagram and more than 44,000 followers on TikTok. Ava has also acted in some short films, is an aspiring singer, has walked the runway for multiple designers, and has documented her hair and beauty evolution on her YouTube channel. And, yes, she’s on Cameo.

Following her exit from America’s Next Top Model, Ava told Celeb Dirty Laundry in 2015, “You know, it’s a competition and there were a lot of clashing personalities. Everyone wants the same prize, so bound to happen.” Clearly, Ava arrived ready to play the game in The Circle.

While Ava is already a fan-favorite on The Circle, the model has learned to take criticism from her years as a model. Discussing feedback she received from Tyra Banks, Ava told Celeb Dirty Laundry, “I smiled and nodded while trying to [be] as professional as possible! I was just happy to be there. I had wanted to model and compete on ANTM since I was a little girl. It’s a dream and I was truly happy to be there.”

And in an essay for She Knows, Ava wrote, “America’s Next Top Model is definitely one of the proudest accomplishments that has been added to my résumé. Life has been wonderful since the show. … I hope that I can continue to be an inspiration to all the petite beauties out there; you don’t have to be 5 feet 10 inches to stand tall. I also would love to continue to inspire my generation to be proud of who you are, and never change to fit into someone else’s image of you.”

Ava also opened up about her childhood to Celeb Dirty Laundry, revealing that her home life was far from idyllic. “I grew up in a home with an abusive father and even was subjected to bullying in school,” she explained. “I refuse to be a bystander when that kind of thing is taking place. It did jar my focus, but it was my choice and I stand by it.” However, Ava has made it clear in multiple Instagram posts that she’s extremely close to her mother.

Who is Chanel Capra?

Ava entered The Circle with a little help in the form of her sister, Chanel Capra. Chanel is a writer, producer, and actress, with some seriously impressive IMDb credits under her belt. For instance, she has story and co-producer credits on the 2005 Usher movie, In the Mix, and co-wrote 2004’s Nora’s Hair Salon, starring Tatyana Ali, and its sequel. She’s also the co-founder of development company Bella Mafia Entertainment.

According to her IMDb biography, Chanel got her start in the movie industry after her brother, Francis Capra, was cast in 1993’s A Bronx Tale, Robert De Niro starred in and directed. Francis has since starred in a plethora of TV and movie projects, including popular series like Veronica Mars and iZombie. Clearly, showbiz runs in the family.

What happened to Ava and Chanel in The Circle Season 3?

Sadly, Ava (along with Chanel) was the first player to be voted out of The Circle. However, the sisters were given a second chance, this time by cloning another player’s profile in order to stay in the game. They opted to clone Michelle, and were successful in convincing many of the players that they were the real profile, which led to the real Michelle getting voted out next. But before long, the fake Michelle profile was also voted out, bringing Ava and Chanel’s time in The Circle to a close for good.

How are viewers responding to Ava and Chanel?

Ava and Chanel’s journey in The Circle may have been short, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t had a big impact on those watching at home. However, because the sisters decided to clone Michelle’s profile after getting the boot early on, it seems that they’ve gained a fair few enemies, too. But they also have some new fans.
