The City Girls Take Us Behind the Scenes of NYFW

The City Girls weren’t playing around this fashion week. The hip-hop duo put their best-dressed feet forward as they trotted around the Big Apple to witness the latest runway fare. For their appearances at the Moschino and LaQuan Smith shows, they opted for seductive outfits with the help of in-demand stylist and self-proclaimed “image architect” Law Roach.

While viewing Jeremy Scott’s playful and eye-popping range for Moschino at Bryant Park, Yung Miami wore an asymmetrical patchwork look from the brand—a hybrid between a silky golden gown and a black leather biker dress, which she paired with slingback heels and a textured black clutch. “I really love the fast-paced energy you feel when going to the shows and not expecting what’s next on the runway,” she tells ELLE.com.

Next came LaQuan Smith’s sky-high presentation at the Empire State Building. (Does it get more New York than that?) The City Girls stayed true to the theme, taking leg slits to new heights in their coordinating body-hugging dresses by the designer, with JT in a rich brown gown and Miami in a red velvety two-piece. They even linked up with Ciara and LaLa Anthony at the venue. “It’s so inspiring to be around so many different people and see their different tastes in style,” JT says. They later performed at Smith’s Met Gala after-party.

The City Girls’ NYFW appearance comes months after they officially released their viral single, “Twerkulator,” in May. The duo has more in store too, including an album on the way.
