“Going into this [Trials], I know exactly what to expect,” Biles said after the meet in an interview on NBC, per ESPN. “And I’m a lot more emotional this time around, which is so crazy. Even walking out, I was like tearing up and crying and the girls were like, ‘Are you OK?’ And I’m fine; it’s just I can’t believe the time is here. It’s been five years. I’m grateful.”

Biles had the night’s highest score on beam with 15.133 and on vault with 15.466.
“I feel like I’m going to remember staying in bounds [on floor], getting all my credit on beam, and just being out here with three of my teammates,” Biles told NBC reporter Andrea Joyce. “It’s been a blast.”
Biles competed at her first Olympics in 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, when she was 19 years old. There, she earned four gold medals and one bronze.
In an interview with Today’s Hoda Kotb that aired in April, Biles spoke about how important she feels it is that she show up as a representative of fellow survivors of former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University sports doctor Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse.
“I just feel like everything that happened, I had to come back to the sport to be a voice, to have change happen,” Biles said. “Because I feel like if there weren’t a remaining survivor in the sport, they would’ve just brushed it to the side.”
Nassar received a 60-year federal prison sentence in 2017 and received up to 175 years in jail on sexual abuse charges in early 2018.
