Zendaya and stylist Law Roach fully embraced Dune’s sci-fi genre at the London premiere of the film tonight. Zendaya appeared on the red carpet wearing an asymmetrical Rick Owens white column gown. Coupled with her updo, makeup, and all-around excellent posing, Zendaya gave space princess vibes.
Zendaya spoke to Empire earlier this year about how she actually wasn’t on the set of Dune long for her role as Chani. She was only there for four days: “My part is very, very small in this movie and that’s why I’m so excited to see it, to see what everyone’s been up to,” she said. “[Director Denis Villeneuve and I] had a little discussion about who Chani is and the strength she possesses. She’s a fighter, that’s what her people are. I only really had a few days with her, so I kind of scratched the surface but it was so much fun figuring her out. What does she walk like, what does she talk like? This is her planet, so how does she navigate this world? It was so fun.”
Speaking with InStyle for its November 2021 issue, she added she was definitely down to be in a possible sequel. “We’ll see how the first one goes, but I’m ready to do a second,” she said. “Whenever they call, I’m here. [Co-star] Timothée [Chalamet] is an extraordinary talent and just a lovely person—he’s become my family.”
